Det beste stedet å lære å bruke et slikt program, er på stuebordet hjemme. Derfor er en simulatorfunksjon viktig. Tiki har en meget god simulator. I den er alle funksjoner tilgjengelige bortsett fra at man ikke kan ha en GPS tilkoplet for navigasjon... Bruk av mus på en PC er ikke alltid så enkelt om bord i en båt i urolig sjø. Derfor kan mange funksjoner i Tiki også utføres med hurtigtaster. Tilsvarende kan vi ikke huske å ha sett i andre kartprogrammer."
